Review - The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo

IMDB, Wikipedia
Score: 4/5
Language: Swedish, with English Subs
(Orig Title Män som hatar kvinnor)
Genre: Crime Thriller

Summary: Disgraced investigative Journalist Mikael Blomkvist (Michael Nyqvist), is hired by the patriarch of a wealthy Swedish industrial family to look into the disappearance of his niece, a 16yr old girl, that occurred over 40 years ago in 1966. He gains assistance from a young, smart, goth-punk woman, Lisbeth Salander (Noomi Rapace), who is an expert computer hacker/data extractor.

Comments: The film is based on the first novel of a trilogy. None of which I had read before seeing the film. Having seen the film, I now intend to buy and read the trilogy. The story in the film flows quite well.

Noomi Rapace does a fantastic job playing the role of Lizbeth. In fact all the cast were believable in their roles. I would have liked to have gotten a better look at her tattoos as the parts I did see looked like exceptional work.

There is already a Hollywood remake on the way. I'm curious to see if they will leave it set in Europe or if they set it in the U.S. as some of the plot is Euro centric.

I bet they film it in Europe and set it in the US. Jerks.
