Doctor Who mini review (no spoilers)

Just finished watching the first episode of the new series (series 5 or series 31 depending on how you count it) with the new Doctor, played by Matt Smith. Quite enjoyed it. Then again that tends to be the way with all the eps of Doctor Who and the various spin off shows. Only thing I didn't like was what they have done to the theme music. Could be because I've recently been listening to Delia Darbyshire's work. Maybe the theme will grow on me. Also thought the new companion was quite good.

I'm not sure about the new theme music, either.
The new companion (I wrote more but then you said no spoilers) was very relevant to my interests. :)

I'm not too happy with the haphazard junkyard look to the TARDIS console. Was hoping it would be more Steampunk looking...

With the lightning strikes and the general getting-bashed-about-a-bit-ness of the TARDIS in the opening credits, I am hoping that the opening music they had was just for the first episode, what with the TARDIS' opening scenes being crashing and generally being a bit bashed-about-and-explodey.

I hope you a right.

An interesting article that mentions a couple of things I did not pick up on (such as the Doctor = Tigger from Pooh bear in the eating scene)called

If I'm not right it seems many (ha!) people have complained about it too.

The Daily Mail is not exactly the most august organ and it has a very decidedly Pro-British slant (thus the BBC changing anything is 'a bad thing'(c))
