MIFF Review - The Kids are all Right

IMDB, Wikipedia
Score:  3.5/5
Language:  English
Genre: Comedy Romance
Summary: (from MIFF)

“A generous, nearly note-perfect portrait of a modern family.” New York Times
For live-in lesbian couple Jules (Julianne Moore) and Nic (Annette Bening), life with their two teenage children in suburban LA is quiet and a little too comfortable. But when the kids go behind their back and track down the sperm donor who made it all possible, things start to get complicated.
Filmmaker Lisa Cholodenko (High Art, Laurel Canyon) mixes family drama and comedy to paint an orthodox picture of an unorthodox family. Features standout performances from Moore and Bening, along with Mark Ruffalo as the hippy man-child Paul, who makes a better sperm donor than he does a father.
Winner of the Teddy Award for Best Feature at the 2010 Berlin International Film Festival.
